Australia festival to host Persian speaking films

Persian International Film Festival in Australia has launched new entry call for the latest edition.

Sixth edition of Persian International Film Festival in Australia has issued new entry call for Persian speaking film worldwide.

The festival screening Iranian cinema and the Persian speaking world is set to review new quality films for the latest edition running 31 August – 10 September 2017.

Amin Palangi is the festival chief who was one of the honored guests of 2016 Iran International Documentary Film Festival, Cinema Vérité, held in Tehran.

Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-winning 'The Salesman' opened PFFin 2016 with a tribute paid to late-great Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami who passed away last year.

Founded in 2011, PFF is a one of a kind festival that showcases films by Persian-speaking filmmakers of Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan. The festival also aims to be a leader in shifting views and misconceptions in Australia by creating spaces for new and alternative voices.

The festival jury present the Golden Gazelle Award for various strands during the Closing Night Ceremony in Sydney.
